■(SPEC) 'Porcelain Maiden'

2013, Hammond

'Porcelain Maiden' (Eric Hammond, unregistered). Collection #EDCH 97241. Section Lophiris, Iris japonica. "Collection of Iris japonica from near Baoxing in Sichuan, China, that was subsequently introduced in 2000 by Heronswood Nursery as Iris confusa. Dan agreed with our name of 'Porcelain Maiden' for this wonderful clone. Like all Iris japonica, Iris 'Porcelain Maiden' is insanely vigorous, making an incredible groundcover to 5' wide in 5 years and 10' in ten years. In spring, the evergreen patches are topped with 2' tall branching spikes, ending in lovely white flowers with a lavender blush just below the eye-zone."--Plant Delights 2013. zone 7-10.
