Subgenus Scorpiris (JUNO) An
Iris bucharica. 10-14" (25-35 cm) April-May bloom season after Reticulatas and at beginning of MDBs. The most commonly seen form in mass production in Holland. Standards drooping inconspicuous, white. Falls white with Sulphur yellow signal blotch over the blade and a large central, wavy, entire ridge for a crest. To each side of the crest there are a few purple marks. Style arms prominent and bright white. Said to have the fragrance of Freesia. This plant has been sold under
I. orchioides forma
bicolor and
I. bucharica forma
bicolor.
