1879, Eduard August Regel Iris regeli Maxim. ex Regel (Eduard August Regel, 1879). Subgenus Limniris, Series Tenuifoliae;In T rudy Imp. S.-Peterburgsk. Bot. Sada vi. (1879) 495. Very little is known about this plant and there for it can not be dismissed as a proper species. It may simply be a small form of Iris tenuifolia but there has been little research to validate that conclusion. See below:
