The following catalogs were noted in the 1939 checklist; Van Tubergen 1936; Barr 1937; Waterer 1947; Starker 1938;
 
Starker 1937 catalog gives "'Reticulata Hercules'. Deep bronzy-violet, broad petalled form with orange crest. Very distinct and fine. New. $1.00. "
Oakhurst 1939 gives "RETICULAR A HERCULES (Bulbous). 1.00 Bright red-purple. Blooms a week later than Reticulata. 8 in."
