1998, Schafer/Sacks

'Versicle' ( Marty Schafer and Jan Sacks, R. 1998) SPEC (versicolor), 15" (38 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards clean white; style arms clean white, heart yellow; falls clean white veined pale blue, light yellow signal with pale blue veins; rounded, arched form. SP90-3-1: ( 'Party Line' x 'Little Rhyme') X 'Version'. Joe Pye Weed 1998. Honorable Mention 2003; Award of Merit 2007.

From AIS Bulletin #309 April 1998 Introducing VERSICLE - SPEC-versicolor. Schafer/Sacks, 15", M. This is a small versicolor, clean white with very pale blue veins and small neat yellow signals with faint stitching. The form is round and flaring, and it makes a great clump. (Party Line x Little Rhyme) X Version. $25.00. Joe Pie Weed's Garden.

  • 'Versicle' was blooming at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, zone 4b, approximately, June 3-13, in 2017. It has Purple Based Foliage at the base of the leaves. -- HollyJohnson2017-04-01 - 10 Aug 2017
