1948, Washington

'Blue Acres' ( Thomas Washington, R. 1938). SPU, Midseason bloom. Color Class-B1L. Palest windsor blue self effect. Fairmount, 1948.

Note: Not to be confused with TB 'Blue Acres', Gersdorff, 1938, which apparently was never introduced and was declared obsolete in the 1949 Checklist.

From Fairmount Gardens catalog, 1938: BLUE ACRES (Mrs. T. A. Washington 1948) L. Full broad petaled blooms of palest Windsor blue (Ridgway). In effect a self with large cupped standards and almost horizontal falls. An exquisite shade of blue with a frosty silvery lustre heavily substanced petals. Dainty and charming. Strong clean foliage. 45 in. $10.00
