'Cobalt Mesa' (Floyd Wickenkamp, R. 1985) Seedling #SP-80-6. SPU, height 49" (125 cm). Midseason bloom. Dark violet blue, small gold signal. 'Red Oak' X McCown seedling #80-10: ('Proverb' x 'Clarke Cosgrove'). Shepard Iris 1986. Honorable Mention 1988

From AIS Bulletin #262 July 1986 Introducing COBALT MESA (Floyd Wickenkamp '86) SPU-50"- M $20.00. Such a beautiful bloom! Standards are dark violet-blue. Falls are dark violet-blue with small gold signals. The blooms have a texture of velvet. Sdlg. #SP 80-6. Red Oak X McCown sdlg. 80-10: (Proverb x Clarke Cosgrove). Shepard Iris Garden.
