'Gay Lark' ( Marion Walker, R. 1958) Seedling #5-S-56. SPU, 55" (140 cm). Early bloom. Standards white blended yellow at base; falls yellow overlaid orange-yellow, white border. 'Grace Perry Nies' X 'Canary Island'. Lyon 1958. Honorable Mention 1958.

From AIS Bulletin #149, April 1958. Introducing GAY LARK (M. R. Walker '58) $15.00. Soft white standards; deep orange-yellow falls. Brilliant and ruffled. Lyon Iris Garden.
From Lyon’s Irisland catalog, 1959: GAY LARK (M. R. Walker 1958) $15.00 This iris is a much improved yellow bicolor. The standards are broad and erect with very heavy substance; a soft white, blending to yellow at the center of the flower. The falls are a deep orange-yellow, edged white (½") and heavily ruffled. The over all effect of the flower is brilliant, and the quality is outstanding. 55 ". (Grace Perry Nies X Canary Island). Honorable Mention 1958
