'Lark Song' ( Eric Nies, R. 1942). SPU. 48" (122 cm). Midseason bloom. Color Class-Y6D. Standards creamy white; falls rich yellow; stylecrests creamy white. 'Bronzspur' X seedling. Lyon, Milliken, 1946. Honorable Mention 1946; Nies Award 1959. Chromosomes 2n = 40.

From Milliken Gardens catalog, 1948: LARK SONG (Nies) Considered by many the loveliest Spuria. The entire flower is heavily frilled. The falls, nearly horizontal, are a full, rich yellow, the standard and style branches nearly white. The flowers are large and well spaced on tall stems. Highly commended, American Iris Society. Stock very limited. $15.00.
