1993, Johnsen

'Midnight Rival' ( Lawrence Johnsen, R. 1992). Seedling #VYCW 89-3. SPU, 48" (122 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Standards dark amethyst purple; style arms purple, edged lighter, deep purple crests; falls deepest amethyst purple with velvety brown overlay, small yellow signal; ruffled. 'Vintage Year' X 'Crow Wing'. Shepard Iris 1993. Honorable Mention 1998; Award of Merit 2001.
