| From Melrose Gardens catalog, 1964: NEOPHYTE (Hager '64) 40". Mid to Late Season (I. carthaHniae x Morningtide). Strong blue violet standards and cream falls veined violet. A blue that does not fade. Small signal and weH branched stems. Partially pod fertile. Good foliage that remains longer during the summer than most other varieties.
