(Barr '89). A classic example of elegance I would not be without. Its "spidery" form is not up to today's prevailing tastes. Nevertheless, one will look long and hard to find a late spuria variety that comes near to the almost perfect flower spacing of this one. Really, it takes no great imagination to see ol' Mother Nature bending over the clump telling it how high each bud can go. You'll find many stalks with five blooms open, starting from half way down the stalk. [Chesnik, Ray (1971).
