'Russian Blue' (O. David Niswonger, R. 1982) Seedling #Sp 13-78. SPU, 48" (122 cm). Early bloom. Blue with yellow signal and veining extending out from signal. I. klattii X 'Blue Lassie'. Cape Iris 1983. Exhibition Certificate 1981; Honorable Mention 1985.

From AIS Bulletin #249 April 1983 Introducing RUSSIAN BLUE-and RUSSIAN WHITE-Sdlg. Sp 13·78 and Sp12·78. Spurias I. klattii X Blue Lassie and vice versa. Introduced together for the Spuria enthusiast. Early, 48", 5·6 buds, make seeds reluctantly and they germinate. Foliage is twice as large as the regular spuria hybrid, and they grow taller than most. Both for $15.00 or $10.00 each. Cape Iris Gardens.
