| From Diehl's Gardens catalog, 1955: ABBIE COLLET (K. Williams '55) M. 32". Blue irises are always great favorites in the garden, and this large, fluted, flaring very blue pure self, with slight intensification in falls will be, we believe, one of the highlights in our garden this season. The blooms, which are open 3 to 4 days, are unusually iridescent, with extremely heavy substance like crisp leather, and are completely weather resistant, having withstood both hail and high winds. The stalks are very stout and straight, with flowers well spaced on beautifully balanced branches. Plants are large and vigorous, with stiff and upright foliage. The very rich, deep coloring of this fine flower, together with all the other qualities of a top ranking iris, make it one of the most impressive for the front of the border. $10.00
| From Melrose Gardens catalog, 1957: ABBIE COLLET (K. Williams '55) Short, but delightful and useful in the garden. (In fact that description sounds like Mrs. Collet herself). A near true blue, branching, substance and vigor, all outstanding. $5.00.
