From Sam Carpenter catalog, 1927: ABENDA: (Perry 1924) TB. This beautiful iris produces its medium-sized flowers in great profusion on stiff branching stems, quite early, and grows nearly four feet high. S. large and inlaid. A delightful shade of old rose and bronze; falls rich madder-crimson, suffused soft bronze.

ABENDA (Perry). S. light lilac-pink tinted buff; F. approach cherry red in color. This combination produces a very bright effect, making Abenda an excellent landscape variety. The quality of the bloom is as good as the celebrated O. Perthuis. Midseason. Height 36 inches. $2.00. (Bonnewitz, 1927).
