| From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: ADMIRATION (Smith 1946) M. 36 in. (Aubane! x sdlg.) x (Chosen x Yellow Glory). A massive iris of rich medium yellow. Heavy substance and excellent form. H. M. 1947. 1.50. |
| "ADMIRATION, Kenneth Smith's classy deep yellow of perfect form, which finally bloomed for me after three years of failure (perhaps because I had given away all but one rhizome). It is a vigorous grower and fast increaser, but seems to suffer crown damage almost every winter here. When right, it is a beauty, slightly less orange than Ola Kala, but just as brilliant." John Dolman, Jr. (Pa.), “Forty-Nine East,” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, No. 115 (October 1949): 42. |
