From Schreiner’s catalog, 2015: ANCIENT AIRS (Schreiner 2015) L. 44” $55.00. See the contrasting red shades of this mammoth, late-blooming wonder, as shown in our photo at left. Good form and branching, with 8 buds per stem, enliven this arresting luminata, red bitone. Note how the muted yellow – of the style arms, under and around the falls – energizes the red. Watermelon standards lighten at the base. Proud chartreuse beards adorn dark red falls. A modern Iris, owing much to the past. Seedling #YY327-A. |
