From AIS Bulletin #181 April 1966 Introducing ANGEL BRIGHT (Clara B. Rees 1966) E.M.L. 36 to 38 inches. (Alice Lemen x Marilyn C). Huge, strikingly formed flowers of bright white with brilliant gold shoulders and beard are carried on ramrod stiff stalks with three branches and terminal. Each bud socket will have two to three buds with some stalks bearing up to fifteen stunning flowers. The standards are beautifully domed; the wide falls are semi-flaring and many flowers span eight inches. Usually the plant needs to be established for peak performance. A fine newcomer to this class; fertile both ways--an exciting parentage that should breed red bearded whites and yellows, and pink blends. Seedling 63-15. Net $25.00. Imperial Gardens. |
From Melrose Gardens catalog 1968: ANGEL BRIGHT (Clara Rees '66) A sparkling affair, the soft cream white flowers are wide and ruffled and perfectly poised and a substantial area of the upper falls is colored in the brightest yellow, near orange, which continues into the beard color. Heavenly. 17.50. |
