From Milliken Gardens catalog, 1949: This is very exceptional in its coloring and will fascinate many beauty lovers. The falls are tinted lime green with darker olive veining; standards light yellow green. The large flowers ruffle somewhat and are borne on well branched stems. 4 feet. $1.00; 3 for $2.50. |
From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1955: APPOINTEE (White '41) M 36" (Unknown) While this plant has several good qualities, it is chiefly interesting for its yellow flowers which have a chartreuse cast of varying intensity with different growers. From it we have had many seedlings, several with noticeable green tones-one in particular is pale blue with a broad flush in both standards and falls of chartreuse green. Appointee is the pollen parent of 'Green Hat', an origination of Mr.George Murray which is being introduced this year by the Norwood Iris Gardens. H. C. '41. $.50 |
