From Melrose Gardens catalog 1976: ARTWORK (Keppel '76) Late. 35". Sdg. 69-30E. (Amigo's Guitar x (Rippling Waters x Gypsy Lullaby)) X Barcelona. Exhibited here are the flowing lines of an iris fiower composed and executed in the translucent tints of watercoior by an artist in full command of his media. The siiken tones of peach and warm flesh swirl upward into rippled standards and the expansive, wave-edged falls are awash with liquescent lavender-orchid. But, lest the contrasting colors divide these areas too abruptly, the softer peach tones of the standards float down over the hafts and continue, mixing with the color there encountered, into a bronzed peach rim encircling the falls. Cream beards are faintly tipped tangerine; the branching is exhibition oriented. NET 25.00. |
