From Iris City Gardens catalog 1940: ASHES OF ROSES-A fine upstanding iris, somewhat of Dominion carriage, of a most pleasing rose-gray tone throughout. This is the iris of which Mrs. Kirkland thinks so much, because her mother had a dress of the same beautiful "ashes of roses" color when she was a little girl. 36", strong grower with heavy substance. $10.00.
Sold from the following catalogs: Iris City 1940; Tell 1947.
