"Although yellow rebloomers are produced with perhaps too much frequency by hybridizers, Dr. Smith has found quality in the yellows slow in coming. The size, width of parts and resistance to burning have not come as rapidly as his earlier success with AUGUST GOLD led him to expect. AUGUST GOLD was still around, however, to see one of its big dusky descendants carry powefully across many rows of new seedlings." [Billy G. Skillman, “A Fall Garden Visit,” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, No. 180 (January 1966): 64.] |
