Citation from The Journal: Royal Horticultural Society Vol. 56: Pt. 1, p.91. Jan. 1931, Trials: AUTUMN.---Plant vigorous, of rapid increase, with erect glaucous-green foliage, 22 inches high. Flower stems 29 inches, erect, branching above the middle, 5- or 6-flowered. Flowers medium to large, close, well proportioned, stiff. Standards domed, notched, 2 3/8 x 2 1/4 inches, pale lavender-violet, base brownish. Falls straight hanging, 2 x 2 1/4 inches, rich bluish-violet with paler margins, brown distinct veins on white at haft. Beard white, deeply tipped with orange. Flowering May 16. Raised and sent by Mr. H.P.Sass. (Madame Chéreau x Amas). |
