'Autumn Joy' (
Donald Spoon, R. 2000). Seedling 89-144C. TB, height 30" (76 cm), Early bloom and rebloom. Standards reddish violet wash to maroon at base, minimal white ground showing except on reverse; style arms reddish violet to maroon, light yellow edges; Falls deep reddish violet (RHS 83A) border, short dark veins near beard, ground white; beards white base, hairs tipped greyed orange to brown; ruffled; slight sweet fragrance.

From AIS Bulletin #320 January 2001 Introducing Autumn Joy TB, 30" (76 cm), E & RE (Nov. in zone 6). Ruffled plicata, falls with deep reddish violet (RHS 83A) border and white ground. Standards reddish violet (maroon at base) with minimal white on outside, slightly open showing white ground with dark veins inside. Reddish violet styles, bordered yellow. Short, dark veins around white beards tipped grayed-orange (167A) and brown (166A) in the throat. (Poet X Sweet Anita). $35. Winterberry Gardens. |
