From Schreiners Iris catalog, 1936: BALLET GIRL (H. P. Sass-Schreiner '35). Of softest blush pink, pure and daintily colored, the form of the flower is very distinct, having addressed standards with large rounded flaring falls. The size is decidedly above the average in the pink class. Its daintiness and grace are indeed suggestive of a dancing girl. The stem is of medium height and the flowers are of very good substance. This is a clear, exquisite pink with a most charming personality. Stock limited. $15.00.
Ballet Girl. Lovely soft lavender self, frosty and fluted. Good form, straight stalk, very little branching, vigorous, making a beautiful clump in the garden. [Mrs. Herman E. Lewis, "Varietal Notes 1938", A.I.S. Bulletin 72 (January 1939): 10.]

From Quality Gardens catalog, 1938: (H. Sass 1935) M. 36". A medium tall, delicately colored iris of clear pastel pink. S. ruffled and frilled, F. semi-flaring. $5.00.
