1984, Burch

'Bama Berry' (James Burch, R. 1984). Seedling# 39-7. TB, 35" (89 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards white ground with pink (RHS 48C) plicata markings; falls white ground with red (53A) plicata markings darker in center; red orange (30A) beard. 'Highland Chief' X 'Roundup'. Burch Iris 1984. High Commendation 1982; Exhibition Certificate 1982; Favorite guest 1984; Honorable Mention 1986.

From AIS Bulletin #253 April 1984 Introducing BAMA BERRY- TB (Highland Chief X Roundup). Standards are white with pink (RHS 480) plicata markings atop flared falls that are also white but with darker (RHS 53A) plicata markings; These red markings become darker in the center ofthe falls. There are four branches that support eight blossoms, making this an attractive show iris as well as one that draws your attention upon entering the garden. EC, HC 1982. $25.00 Net. Burch Iris Garden.
