'Banners Royal' (Jesse Wills, R. 1970). Seedling# 30-65. TB, 36" (91 cm). Midseason bloom. Rose red self, brown at haft; dull gold beard. Seedling# 64-56: (red seedling. from 'Pacemaker' x red seedling from 'Heart's Desire') X 'King's Mountain'. Wills 1971.

From AIS Bulletin #202 July1971 Introducing BANNERS ROYAL-TB. A large, tall, flaring rose-red with a good deal of ruffling, a vigorous grower. Fertile both ways. Seen in Dr. Knocke's garden as 30-65. HC 1970. From a red seedling X King's Mountain. $25.00. Jesse Wills.
