In the late 1950’ and early 1960’ my Great uncle, Towne R. Abercrombie, owned an iris garden in the Cinncinnati, Ohio area. He developed a new strain of tall bearded iris and named it after me. It was approved for introduction in 1965 (do have the certificate sent to me after his death). My family has cultivated this iris over the years and with the help of friends, it is still growing and blooming. B.W.
