From Bonnewitz catalog, 1927: BERTRAND (Bliss). Dominion Seedling. “Flowers of extra size. Standards three inches broad and well arched, of bright lavender-violet, tinged and suffused Hay’s violet in the center. F. brilliant rich velvety hyacinth-violet to mulberry purple.” This description comes from England as this variety failed to bloom in my garden this season $15.00
