1976, Hamblen

'Betty Simon' (Melba Hamblen, R. 1975). Seedling# H69-47. TB, 32" (81 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Standards yellow (RHS 3D), creamy yellow center area; falls violet-blue (92B), chartreuse hafts; yellow orange beard. 'Misty Dawn' X 'Foggy Dew'. Mission Bell 1976. High Commendation 1975; Honorable Mention 1977; Judges' Choice 1978; Award of Merit 1979.

  • TB 'Betty Simon' was blooming at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, zone 4b, approximately, June 5-13, in 2017. It has light colored Purple Based Foliage that is visible at least during and after flowering, as well as some color on the spathes. -- HollyJohnson2017 -04-01 - 10 Aug 2017
