From AIS Bulletin #232 Winter 1979 Introducing BEYOND (1979). 36", E, #42-3A … $25.00. This is a highly ruffled and fluted iris, further development from the APRICOT BLAZE line. The 5"x6" blossoms are perfectly formed, showing to perfection the unusual deep apricot-brown standards and stylearms. The falls are ruffled and fluted. The outer rim is the same color as the standards. Brown thumbprints in the haft make a pleasing lead into the off-white ground of the falls. This is all set off by a rich orange-red beard. Vigorous growth, early bloom and excellent branching make this a fine addition. ANON is the seed pod parent, giving to it a pleasing similarity. In effect, a deeper colored ANON. ORANGE PLUME (1979). 38", M, #75-4A. $25.00. Gibson Iris Garden. |
