1976, Tolman

'Big Brother' (Bion Tolman, R. 1976). Seedling# 66-134-2. TB, 34-36" (86-97 cm), Early to midseason bloom. Ruffled white ground plicata stitched rosy lavender, wider on standards than on falls; deeply colored stylearms, giving center of bloom a darker appearance; yellow beard tipped white. 'Stepping Out' X 'Dancers Veil'. Tell, Tolman 1976.

From AIS Bulletin #221 April 1976 Introducing BIG BROTHER-TB, 34-36". (Stepping Out X Dancer's Veil). Sib to Stitched Beauty but larger in both flower and stalk, hence the name"Big Brother." Glistening white ground plicata stitched rosy lavender, wider on standards; ruffled. Yellow beard tipped white. Stylearms are deeply colored and give the center of the bloom a darker appearance. Heavy substance. Produces excellent show stalks as well as an excellent garden clump. Has received both the EC and HC awards. Sdlg. 66-134-2. $25.00. Bion Tolman.
