'Swahili' X seedling 71-8-B: ('Mary Randall' x 'Edenite') x ('Licorice Stick' x 'Black Swan')). Stahly 1984. High Commendation 1982; Honorable Mention 1986; Award of Merit 1990.

Facebook comment from Jeff Bennett, May 2024: This is a very dark iris in full sun. Capturing it in the evening sun shows the rich violet in the standards. Robust grower, medium sized flowers. Almost all it’s parents come from black ancestry.
