'Blazing Beacon' (Richard Tasco, R. 2004). Seedling# 96-TB-15-44. TB, height 36" (91 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Standards aureolin yellow (RHS 12A); style arms aureolin yellow, fringe on style crest; falls golden yellow with bronze overlay, darker bronze shoulders; beards yellow at end, bronze in middle, tangerine in throat, occasional brownish-burgundy horns; moderately ruffled; slight sweet fragrance. 'Thornbird' X 'Golden Panther'. Superstition 2005. Honorable Mention 2007; Award of Merit 2009.

From AIS Bulletin #337 April 2005 Introducing BLAZING BEACON (Tasco 2005) TB, 36", ML. Seedling # 96-TB-15-44. Aureolin yellow standards and golden yellow falls with a bronze overlay and darker bronze shoulders; slight yellow spritzes around beard; beard is yellow in throat, bronze in the middle, and tangerine at the end. Occasionally may produce brownish burgundy horns, but was not registered as a space-ager. 2 branches and up to 7 buds. Very bright flower which makes the name appropriate, its' shine will blaze across your garden. Sib to 2003's space-ager Solar Fire. Thornbird X Golden Panther. $45.00-or-3/$90.00.
