<strong>'Blue Chip Pink' </strong>([[Main.Bio.HybridizerNiswonger][O. David Niswonger]], R. 1989). Seedling# 40-87. TB, 34" (86 cm). Midseason bloom. Pink with hint of lilac; beard 1/2 blue, 1/2 tangerine; slight fragrance. Seedling# 58-83: (Rudolph seedling# 79-05 x ([[TbPthruT.TbSingingSkies]['Singing Skies']] x [[TbKthruO.TbLilacThrill]['Lilac Thrill']])) X seedling# 9-84: ([[TbAthruE.TbCenterFold]['Center Fold']] X Rudolph seedling# 79-O5). Cape Iris 1990. Honorable Mention 1992, Award of Merit 1994.

| From AIS Bulletin #277 April 1990 Introducing BLUE CHIP PINK (Niswonger '90) Sdlg. 40-87: Pink Blue Genes X 9-84: (Center Fold X Rudolph 79-05). TB, 34", Mid. This vigorous pink wih blue beards has rebloomed in the west. It comes from a long line of Nate Rudolph's pinks and Orville Fay's blues crossed in with my line of "pinks with blue beards". It forms a clump quickly with show type stalks. The pink is more of a lilac pink or blue pink as compared with its pod parent. This is a pink that is different and I think will be enjoyed for many years. It is very fertile both ways. $35.00. Cape Iris. |
