James Burch, R. 1977). Seedling# 71-5A. TB, 32" (81 cm), Midseason to late bloom. Standards light blue (RHS 97B); falls dark blue-violet (86A) with white blaze at tip of beard; yellow-orange beard changing to light blue at tip.

| From AIS Bulletin #232 Winter 1979 Introducing BLUE TEMPEST (Burch). TB, 32", M-L (71-5A). The tightly domed standards are light blue (RHS 97B); falls are dark blue-violet (86A). A light blue blaze on the falls surrounds an orange beard that changes to blue at the tip. A light blue border encircles the wide, semi-flaring falls. Blue Tempest has 3 branches plus terminal and has 6-7 buds. (Touche X Stepping Out). $25.00. Burch Iris Gardens. |
