BLUE TRIUMPH (Grinter 1934) M. 42". The finest pale blue we have ever seen. The flowers are large and flaring, of exceptionally heavy substance with a smooth velvety finish. The stalk is very tall and widely branched and carries from 12 to 15 flowers which bloom over a long period of time. This has been rated from 92 to 98. An iris of superlative beauty. $6.50. H.M. A. I.S., 1933. Quality Gardens catalog 1937.
BLUE TRIUMPH. Rightly named, a triumph indeed. Smooth texture, heavy substance, splendid stalk, well placed blooms, prolonging the iris season by its late blooming, a heavenly blue. What more do you want? [Mrs. Herman E. Lewis, "Varietal Notes 1938", Bulletin of the American Iris Society 72 (January 1939): 11.
BLUE TRIUMPH (Grinter) A large flowered pale blue that has received a great deal of praise in the East and Middle West. The flowers are of the widely flaring type and are of heavy substance with a smooth velvety finish. Blue Triumph grows to a height of about 3½ feet, and produces many flowers which bloom over a long period of time. 50c; 3 for $1.00. Milliken Iris Gardens catalog 1940.
BLUE TRIUMPH (Grinter) . Tall, medium light blue, perfect shaped flower of smooth texture, stalk widely branched but too tall for size of flower. Belsley, Ray J., Varietal Comments. Bulletin of the American Iris Society 74 (July 1939): 16.
