From Carl Salbach catalog 1941: BONANZA (Jacob Sass 1939). A very unusual bright yellow plicata. Most of the yellow plicatas are pale with but faint marginal pattern, while in Bonanza the colors are deep and rich, and the plicata pattern is distinct, making it a very colorful flower. Mid-season. 30". $2.00.
From Sass catalog, 1949: BONANZA (J. Sass, 1939)-A medium sized yellow ground plicata with distinct brown edge on fall. 34 inch stem. 50c
From Cooley's Gardens catalog, 1940: "Most yellow of all the new plicatas, with a very rich ground color and thick veining of brown on the standards, less on the falls."
