From Western Iris Gardens catalog, 1945: BRIGHT MELODY (Snyder, 1942) . M. 36" Ripe Concord grape, self color, is brought out in deep rich tones. Pleasing chestnut brown noted at haft enhances this different color value. $3.00
Of course Bright Melody was lovely and bright as usual. It's an iris that I think should have the Dykes some day. I haven't seen another of the same color, and if it thrives and blooms everywhere as it does in our locality it has great merit. [Reynolds, Mrs. Leo F., Tennessee (1949).
