ORIGINAL CATALOG DESCRIPTION: From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog, 1964: BROOK SONG (Tompkins 1964) M.VL. 38 in. Silken Sails x ((Surprise Party x Silken Sails) x (Mt. Music x Wide World)). A very different and quite spectacular flower with deep violet blue standards and falls of sleek, lacquer-like finished, slipper-satin white. This reverse amoena type coloring is offset by a thick bright beard of olive green tipped heavily with bright electric blue. The large flowers have well-domed standards and wide, fluted, flaring falls of heavy substance. Strong, many branched stalks make this quite a showpiece. No. 61-142. H.C. 1963. Net 25.00 |
