From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: CALDRON (Schr. '57) M. 35 in. (Ethiop Queen x Ranger) x (G. Glory x Cordovan). A new copper toned red of large size with good stalks and branching. Showy and should be a fine parent. 1.00.
From Schreiner's 1956 catalog (Introductory Year): CALDRON (Schreiner 1957) M. 36". This vivid red self of good size and extraordinary height differs from our other red introduction of this year, Fire Brigade, in approaching red from the copper side, while Fire Brigade approaches it from the crimson-purple. Derived from (Ethiop Queen x Ranger) x (Garden Glory x Cordovan), Caldron possesses a nicely branched stem--so scarce in reds--and exceptional vigor. We are hoping it will do well in the South where reds ordinarily do not thrive. Pictured on page 13. (Sdlg. No. K369-A). $15.00
