From AIS Bulletin #153, April 1959. Introducing CELESTIAL GATES (C. Rees) Snow Flurry x raspberry pink seedling from a complicated pink bloodline. We thought that the subtle colorings of this mother-of-pearl-tinted white, with a grayed-lavender flush on the falls, might resemble the celestial gates. The flower is lighted by a yellow beard, with gold on the haft. The blossoms are large and very ruffled, and the bloom stalk carries three branches and a terminal. A strong grower. Height, 48". Early. $15.00. Rees Iris Garden. |
