'Chamita' (E. B. Williamson, R. 1933) TB. Midseason bloom. Color Class-S9L; Williamson 1934; Long. 1934; 1938; slight fragrance. Synonym: Chamata (National 1938).

From Longfield Iris Farm catalog, 1934: Chamita (Wmsn. No. 1635, 1934). (Toscana X-). A distinct brown toned Iris that has been greatly admired by visitors to our gardens. S. arching cupped, spatulate, Russet shading to Tawny with Dark Vinaceous shading along blade. F. drooping, wedge-shaped, Hydranga Red shading quickly to Russet. The whole flower overlaid with gold. Haft, Empire Yellow veined Russet. Style branches, Light Cadmium, Dark Vinaceous along midrib. Beard, Cadmium Yellow. Excellently branched stems 31 inches high with seven flowers to a stalk. Fine formed flowers 5 inches high and 5 inches wide. Chamita will be of particular interest to breeders. $10.00.
'Chamita' (Wmsn., 1934). A distinct bronze-brown overlaid with gold. Said to be good for breeding. It is unusual and beautiful in color. Medium height. Mabel Carey Tobie, p58 AIS Bulletin #59 October 1935 Iris notes on Mrs. Thomas Nesmith’s collection.
