'Charter Oak' (Fred Gadd, R. 1979). Seedling# 41-73. TB, 34" (86 cm), Midseason bloom. Ruffled dark purple self; bronze beard. (1989 Description of beard changed to dark purple tipped blue).'Yankee Maid' X 'Night Owl'. Wethersfield Iris 1980. Honorable Mention 1983; Favorite Guest 1983.
