1991, Nelson

'Cher' (Roger Nelson, R. 1991). Seedling# RN 82087J. TB, 30-31" (76-79 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards deep orchid violet (RHS 83A/B) with bright purple (77A) highlights; falls same, lighter area near bright orange red (33B) beard; ruffled. 'Dawn Light' X seedling# RN 79-3K: ('Lady' x 'Glory Bound'). Iris Country 1991.

From AIS Bulletin #281 April 1991 Introducing Cher (R. Nelson '91) TB M 31" $35.00. Deep orchid violet with bright purple highlights and bright orange-red beards. Doomed standards and wide, flaring falls, "plenty of ruffles" with well budded stalks. Vigorous and beautiful. HC'86. Iris Country.
