'Cher And Cher Alike' (Paul Black, R. 2013). Seedling R117A. TB, 38" (97 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Standards iridescent medium lilac-purple, mid plum-brown band and bottom, intermittent gilt gold rim; style arms dark auburn and lilac-purple striped crest, violet arm, dark auburn ridge; falls velvety black, light violet veins along beard; beards large, dark marigold; slight sweet fragrance. Seedling O11XX: ('Bold Encounter' x 'Foreign Legion') X seedling N124A: (seedling J147B: ('On the House' x 'Romantic Evening') x 'High Master'). Mid-America 2013. Honorable Mention 2015, Award of Merit 2019.

From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2013: CHER AND CHER ALIKE (Black ‘13) TB Midseason-Late 38” (97 cm). The time of ordinary standards is over. The rise of new colors and patterns is giving them greater impact and prominence. Deeply saturated amethyst standards have a shimmering satin sheen, are banded plum and intermittently rimmed gilt gold. Plush black falls are set ablaze by dark marigold beards. Strong growth produces show stalks with 3 branches and 7-8 buds. Sdlg. R117A: (Bold Encounter x Foreign Legion) X ((On the House x Romantic Evening) x High Master). $50.00.
