From AIS Bulletin #236 January 1980 Introducing CHESTNUT BEAUTY ('80) M, 92 em, #104-4E, Plicata $25.00. This variety gets its name from the soft chestnut brown appearing as its dominant color. The standards are a blend of chestnut brown (RHS greyed orange #176C) and yellow. They are snugly rolled and a pleasing contrast to the broad, semi-flaring and fluted falls, which are yellow-orange and have a 3/8" fluted, brown band. The large white signal gives a pleasing highlight to the center. Generous bloom makes this one an impressive clump. Gibson Iris Garden. |
