From AIS Bulletin #248 January 1983 Introducing CHIEF HEMATITE-TB, M & RE, Blend, #26-8A. $25.00. I would call thiS one a red blend. Standards are closely held with a brick red color. Falls are ruffled and semi-flaring, having l/2" band of same red as the stands. Center is a deep, velvety oxblood red, leaving hafts beautifully speckled with several colors. This is the only place that CHIEF HEMATITE shows its plicata breeding. Kilt Lilt was used twice in the parentage. Should be a good parent for plicata breeding. Gibson Iris Gardens.
