CHIEF SIDAR— (Gage, 1938). A sister seedling of ROSY WINGS, but the brown tones of Rosy Wings are absent. It is similar to Dauntless, one of its parents, but not as red. It is, however, a much more brilliant garden subject with more vivid carrying quality. It is a robust grower and increases well. Well branched stalk and medium size flowers with heavy substance. Standards Argyle Purple. Falls light Perilla Purple. A near self. Deep yellow beard; a faint fragrance. Midseason. 42 inches. $5.00. Sunnyside Gardens, 1938, Original Catalog Description.
