Introductory catalog description from Quality Gardens, 1937:
Reistrations for 1937:
Chloris was listed in at least nine nursery catalogs from 1937 to as late as 1959. Mrs. Pattison introduced it and sold it in her last three catalogs ending in 1939. Robert Wayman started selling it in 1942, follwed by National and Wassenberg starting in 1943. It was listed in Melrose's catalog from 1956 through 1959. There could be more sellers of 'Chloris' but not documented as of 2024. It may be extinct. No picture of it has been found.
Chloris—40 in. A magnificent new introduction. The ground color is a luminous soft yellow, with a delicate orchid and soft blue overlay. An unusually beautiful soft pastel blend, with a vivid orange beard in striking contrast and a golden hue at the throat, Very orchid-like. .50 cents (Wayman, 1942)
Varietal Notes: "A nice pale pink blend, worth having, but it will create no excitement." (AIS Bull. 73:43)
Varietal Notes: "A pallida type, pink and yellow blend with typical hanging, somewhat tucked, falls. Tall thin stems of moderate branch. 30". (AIS Bull. 74:52)
